In the past I've separated it into pieces, twirled it and let it air dry, but I think the water weighs it down while it air dries, and it's not as bouncy. Just my experiences. I like the idea of resuming things that are unresolved instead of "starting" them, although some things can never really be completed. For instance, once you get in shape you have to keep working to stay that way.
